"Because fear, as I have observed, is a dreadful thing."

This morning, the day after Halloween 2012, perhaps the scariest - and for millions of us - the #Sandiest Halloween of mankind so far, I came across an interview that was done already in the 70s of the last century.
The subject was: Ffff....E... hehehe...A...aa...R...rrrr!

Halloween 2012, scariest so far ...

At first I thought: Wow, that's a long interview, an hour (!), who knows if I can take that, but - hey presto - the time was over. Perhaps one of the shortest hours I've ever experienced.

The subject however is - in my opinion - as relevant as ever.
Maybe it has evolved considerably already for the one or the other of us. Got any fear? Looking forward to Your answers, first of all, let's plunge into it ...

20th February 1974 6th Conversation with Dr. Allan W. Anderson
'Fear'
Dr. Allan W. Anderson: Mr Krishnamurti, if I recall correctly I think, we had begun to talk together last time, just at the point where the question of fear arose, and I think we both, perhaps, could explore that together a little.
Jiddu Krishnamurti: Yes, I think so. I wonder how we can approach this problem, because it is a common problem in the world. Everyone, or I can say, almost everyone is frightened of something. It may be the fear of death, fear of loneliness, fear of not being loved, fear of not becoming famous, successful and also fear of not having physical security, and fear of not having psychological security. There are so many multiple forms of fears. Now to go into this problem really very deeply, can the mind, which includes the brain, really fundamentally be free of fear? Because fear, as I have observed, is a dreadful thing.

So what is Your fear?  And if You got any, would You like to share some of it, just to let go of it?
(Maybe start just with the ones in Your consciousness ...)
Something that works for me: Fear is very similar to suffering. Once You share it, You got only half of it left. Does that work for You as well? Or would a list of fears multiply?
This might be a good chance to let some of it go and maybe reflect on it from a distance?
#Fear is as well tagged on Twitter.  What do You feel and what are Your impressions if You follow the track? Is it relief or a drag?
I am interested in how You see the "dreadful thing" and am looking forward to your comments down below :)

Zen on the Beach

12.09.2012 I took a note of what happened to me ...
... Some time ago I was sitting on the beach and I made these sand sculptures.
A few pedestrians passed by. The adults continued. Only the children stayed for a while and noticed something special.
A little boy approached me, laughing: "How do you do that, because this is not possible ?! Who are you?"
I smiled and said, "A magician?
Oh no, it's not magic at all. In fact what you see there, you can do yourself. It is quite normal.

All you create is made from thoughts informing particals to behave in a certain way. Try it yourself! It's easy! "
...

"But my mother will not believe it when I tell her what I have learned!"

In the first days of September 2015, by chance
I had an afternoon walk after a job in the same town,
on the same beach 3 years later, there was this same boy,
three years older now, and guess what:
He was sitting in the sand, forming these little sand sculptures,
and his mother at his side, accompanied him doing the same.
They both smiled this smile of deep knowingness at each other.
Beautiful, and this was the actual lesson of Zen on the Beach !

Meditate on the Go

Summer, Sun, Travel
Traveling often changes the daily rhythm of life. Whether you travel to foreign countries or if your voyage is Talking place "only" within a "microcosm". A question I am now extremely interested in:
How do you manage to meditate on the road?

Has anything changed for you? Please share in a comment on your experience and your opinion with this :)

Meditate anywhere

Many prefer to meditate in the protected silence of their room, because they are afraid of being distracted too much otherwise. Meditation with your Primordial Sound Mantra is so simple that you can easily enjoy Your Meditation outdoors. In some places nature produces sounds, whose uniform recurrence may give a wonderful mantra. Let us trust to a new experience.
If You want to meditate outside for a long session, however, You might prefer to find a place in the shade.
Did you have any experience with meditation in the open? Share your experience in the comments!

The Native American Code of Ethics

As today is Tuesday, the right day to think about the meaning of Karma, the reminder for all of us that I want to relay to You  is taken from "The Seven Spirutual Laws of Success" by Deepak Chopra:

"Every action generates a force of energy that returns to us like kind. Choosing actions that bring happiness and success to others ensures the flow of happiness and success to you."

Then, right after I read the economic news today, I found this post from . Synchronicity? Thank You for sharing these guidelines with us

1. Rise with the Sun to pray. Pray alone. Pray often. The Great Spirit will listen, if you only speak.

2. Be tolerant of those who are lost on their path. Ignorance, conceit, anger, jealousy and greed s...tem from a lost soul. Pray that they will find guidance.

3. Search for yourself, by yourself. Do not allow others to make your path for you. It is your road, and yours alone. Others may walk it with you, but no one can walk it for you.

4. Treat the guests in your home with much consideration. Serve them the best food, give them the best bed and treat them with respect and honor.

5. Do not take what is not yours whether from a person, a community, the wilderness or from a culture. If it was not earned or given, it is not yours.

6. Respect all things that are placed upon this earth - whether it be people or plant.

7. Honor other people's thoughts, wishes and words. Never interrupt another or mock or rudely mimic them. Allow each person the right to personal expression.

8. Never speak of others in a bad way. The negative energy that you put out into the universe will multiply when it returns to you.

9. All persons make mistakes. And all mistakes can be forgiven.

10. Bad thoughts cause illness of the mind, body and spirit. Practice optimism.

11. Nature is not FOR us, it is a PART of us. They are part of your worldly family.

12. Children are the seeds of our future. Plant love in their hearts and water them with wisdom and life's lessons. When they are grown, give them space to grow.

13. Avoid hurting the hearts of others. The poison of your pain will return to you.

14. Be truthful at all times. Honesty is the test of one's will.

15. Keep yourself balanced. Your Mental self, Spiritual self, Emotional self, and Physical self - all need to be strong, pure and healthy. Work out the body to strengthen the mind. Grow rich in spirit to cure emotional ails.

16. Make conscious decisions as to who you will be and how you will react. Be responsible for your own actions.

17. Respect the privacy and personal space of others. Do not touch the personal property of others - especially sacred and religious objects. This is forbidden.

18. Be true to yourself first. You cannot nurture and help others if you cannot nurture and help yourself first.

19. Respect others religious beliefs. Do not force your belief on others.

20. Share your good fortune with others. Participate in charity."

Maybe You copy this list, print it and attach it to the wall in Your office, sharing and discussing these guidelines with Your team and Your customers? Looking forward to Your comments and have a wonderful Tuesday!

Monday Practice (Free Yourself of Projections & Polarizations)

Do you experience repeated conflicts and inexplicably stalled negotiation situations? Do you find it difficult to accept feedback? No constructive solutions to conflicts in the relationship at hand?
The issue is not quite new, but I am thinking still, we as social beings, cannot disregard we recognize ourselves in the other (loosely based on Martin Buber: "Me and You").
For about nine years now, I suggest to my clients to adopt an exercise from the Sanskrit for the journey, which I call "the Monday practice" ( ... because I allow this one to myself every Monday):
Whenever I meet a being on this day of the week

  • that pleases me (more often now ...)
  • or annoys me (what happens ... fortunately less and less)
I pause for a moment and think to myself: "Tat Tvam Asi" (a Sanscrit Sutra which translates very freely to "I am that as well !")
I exhale, let go of the idea and carry on with what I'm doing.

You guessed already, this is - especially in the beginning - not always easy, particularly if you encounter someone who embodies unsympathetic sides.
Nevertheless, this exercise helps me personally, to recognize projections and dissolve them this way. Whenever this happens, counter-projections magically vanish in the haze, and the work starts getting incredibly easy. After a day like this in the evening I feel refreshed and relaxed. By the way, customers affirmed that they have grown fond of the Monday practice by now, which helps them in an easy way to gaining authenticity.

Leaflet:

  • Practice this exercise possibly only on Mondays, you would otherwise find yourself and your communication partners overcharged and by the too rapid changes jeopardize the balance of your system (your team, your group, your family).
  • In addition You might need the other days to focus on other important issues.
  • If you find yourself in a situation when arguing suddenly stopped and thus You lack "the icing on the cake" just dose down the little exercise, or
  • You just get used to the inner and outer peace :)
  • If You apply this exercise during a conflict-laden meeting, You might experience amazing things sometimes, or "almost magic".
I wish You a lot of success and I'm looking forward to reading about Your hands-on experience in the comments occasionally.
Namasté !
